Description

This report presents information on the tests with dry hearings carried out within the Dragon Project. In a proper dry bearing the two surfaces touch each other. No attempt to separate the surfaces by means of an artificially added lubricant is made. In a wider sense a bearing may also be called dry if a dry lubricant only is applied. This report will be concerned with both types of bearings. On the other hand a gas bearing is quite a different thing because the moving surfaces are separated by a gas film Nothing is said about those bearings. (author)
