On installation change of nuclear reactor in Onagawa Nuclear Power Station, Tohoku Electric Power Co., Inc. (additional installation of no. 3 nuclear reactor) (report)

On this matter which was inquired on April 28, 1995, the Nuclear Safety Commission recognized that the application of the criteria for permission to this matter is appropriate after the careful deliberation, and made report to the Minister of International Trade and Industry. In the report, as the result of examining the examination paper related to the technical ability and the examination paper related to the safety, those were recognized as appropriate. The paper in which the contents of the examination are reported is attached. Also the report of the conclusion of the investigation and deliberation by the expert committee on nuclear reactor safety examination to the Nuclear Safety Commission is included. In this report, the detailed contents of the investigation and deliberation are described on the conditions of location including earthquakes, weather and water supply, the aseismatic design of the reactor facilities, the measurement and control system, reactor shutdown system, reactivity control system and safety protection system and others, radioactive waste, and radiation control.
