Experimental determination of the oxidation rate of an A3 graphite sphere ((∅ 60 mm) in fresh air
Description
Automatic translation: Recently, an accident of the following magnitude has been discussed for the pebble bed reactor of the following magnitude has been discussed: a) depressurisation accident of the primary circuit (2 large openings in the SBB are released) b) Failure of all residual heat removal options (6 production loops and 4 separate NWA loops) c) As a result of destruction of the containment, unlimited quantities of air available for graphite burn-up. In this improbable incident - a coincidence of four hypothetical incidents - which would only be conceivable through an act of sabotage sabotage, increased oxidation by air on the spherical fuel elements and the surrounding graphite reflector is to be expected. reflector. Due to the residual heat production, the fuel elements elements also heat up further.
Abstract (German)
Files
