Description
In the last three years geological methods were used in Czechoslovakia to study several potential and approved sites for the construction of nuclear power plants. In the Blahutovice locality (northern Moravia) large-scale geophysical measurements have been carried out since 1982 whose objective is to identify microbumps and to determine their foci in the surrounds of the future nuclear power plant construction site. Similar measurements are being prepared for other localities, namely in eastern Bohemia and in Kecerovce in eastern Slovakia. In other localities changes in the intensity of earthquakes are studied caused by the detailed geological and hydrogeological situation. (Z.M.)
