The value of the oblique projection in aortofemoral arteriography
Creators
- 1. Department of Radiology, Alton Ochsner Medical Institutions, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA
Description
The oblique projection is a useful addition to the conventional a-p or p-a projection in aortofemoral arteriography, as it permits better assessment of the extent of disease throughout the entire aortofemoral distribution. Representative cases are presented. The success of vascular surgeons with limb salvage and eradication of ischaemic pain, and the advent of percutaneous transluminal angioplasty as an effective alternate form of treatment in vascular occlusive disease, make it imperative to produce arteriographic studies of the highest quality and thoroughness.
