On the performance of superconducting tunneling junctions as detectors for nonthermal phonons in single crystalline silicon
Description
Experimental results are presented on the position selective detection of α-particle induced non-thermal phonons in single crystalline silicon by means of superconducting Sn/SnOx/Sn tunneling junctions. As a result of quasiparticle diffusion in the superconducting current leads the sensitive area of the detectors is increased significantly compared to the sensitive area of the junctions. (orig.)
