Perspectives for fast reactors in the European Community
Description
The paper reviews the future development of nuclear power generation, focussing, on the European Community, but discussing this within a wider global context. The only way to secure the longer term deployement of nuclear energy worldwide is through the commercial exploitation of fast reactors. The launching of the EFR project is a significant step towards that objective CEC activities aiming at preparing a European Single Market, which should apply also to nuclear installations as well as to any kinds of goods and services, are described.
