Description

The results of ten years individual film badge monitoring at the Royal Perth Hospital have shown that the majority of occupationally exposed staff have recorded less than 1 mSv per year or 2% of the annual dose equivalent limit. It is suggested that in this and, in probably many other medical situations, the ICRP recommended level of 15 mSv per year at which individual monitoring need not be performed is too high to be of practical value and that a level of 5mSv may be of greater use
