Effect of cold work on hydrogen absorption

  • 1. National Metallurgical Laboratory, Jamshedpur (India)

Description

Hydrogen absorption by severly cold reduced steel during acid dissolution at 400, 600 and 700C has been studied. Increased hydrogen absorption was affected by cold work, temperature, acid concentration and duration of exposure. Diphenylthiourea was found to be not effective in reducing the hydrogen pickup
