Description

Anion-deficient perovskites of the compositions La1-xAxMnO3-y (with A=Ca, Ba, Sr) and Nd1-xCaxMnO3-y(0.25≤y≤0) have been synthesized, and their crystal structure and magnetic and electric properties have been studied. The oxygen deficiency was shown to give rise to considerable structural changes and a reduction in conductivity and magnetization. The specimens consisted of regions with different types of magnetic order. The results obtained are analyzed on the basis of the model of exchange interactions including superexchange via oxygen and double exchange with the participation of charge carriers
