We present here the final report concerning a Swiss National Program which was undertaken with the goal of exploiting our strong international position in research in high temperature superconductivity. Thanks to this national program, very considerable progress has been made in understanding the new phenomenon, and also in application of superconductivity to several fields of interest to our industry. Several laboratories have been able to develop equipment for work in the field, and the idea of common work between universities and industry has progressed. (author) figs., tabs., 420 refs
