Kinetic scheme of initial stage of radiation-induced polymerization of vinyl acetate and acrylonitrile adsorbed on aerosil

Description

Experimental data on radiation polymerization and copolymerization of vinylacetate (VA) and acrylonitrile (AN), adsorbed on aerosil, have been considered using the proposed kinetic model of the processes. The study of the molecular masses of the polymers formed during adsorption polymerization makes it possible to calculate for the first time a number of kinetic parameters of the process with respect to the systems studied. VA polymerization of aerosil is considered as an inhibited reaction when the concentration of the low-effective inhibitor (surface hydroxyl groups participating in a degenerated chain transfer) is great. For VA polymerization of aerosil the relative constants are calculated for the chain transfer to the monomer Csub(M)=3x10sup(-4) and to the HO-gropus Csub(x)=0.6x10sup(-4), as well as radiation-chemical yields of initiating the polymerization Gsub(x)=0.4
