Decoupled bands and antialigned states
Description
It is suggested that the properties of decoupled bands associated with high-j single-particle orbitals are similar to those of Ksup(π) = 1/2- bands associated with j = 1/2 orbitals. Special attention is focussed on the so-called antialigned states. As an illustrative example the Ksup(π) = 1/2- bands in 19F and 23Na have been studied, where the level energies and electromagnetic transition rates are evaluated in a simple weak-coupling model.
