On thermodynamics and kinetics of copper ion sorption by hydrated zirconium oxide

Description
On the basis of studying the temperature effect on equilibrium and kinetics of copper ion sorption from ammonium nitrate solution by hydrated zirconium oxide the estimation of thermodynamic functions describing this process is performed, effective coefficients of copper diffusion and apparent activation energy are calculated. It is established that selective copper absorption is determined by entropy increase of the system at positive values of enthalpy variation whereas the process rate is limited by internal diffusion
