Focussing on the traumatized patient - a well-tried concept in clinical work

The Mississippi University Hospital is the most important trauma centre in the US state of Mississippi providing medical care for some 500,000 people with its ambulance cars and for more than a million people with its 'Life Star', i.e. the hospital's ambulance helicopter. In the course of the last years, the hospital's emergency admission and trauma teams have developed a new organizational concept for their approach to the traumatized patient which has proved to be very effective.
