Sorbent flotation in trace metal analysis. Preconcentration of uranium traces on hydrofobized Hyphan-cellulose

Description
The results of studies on preconcentration of uranium traces for uranium determination in diverse water samples are presented. Uranium preconcentration was performed by sorbent flotation using chelating agents on the basis of hydrofobized Hyphan-cellulose (Hyphan: 1-(2-hydroxyphenylazo-2-napthol). The procedure is shown to provide a 86-99% recovery of uranium traces (3 μg/l) from diverse waters and aqueous salt solutions
