Clinical significance of measurement of serum hs-CRP, TNF-α and M-CSF levels after treatment in pediatric patients with broncho-pneumonia
Description
Objective: To study the significance of changes of serum hs-CRP, TNF-α and M-CSF levels after treatment in pediatric patients with bronchopneumonia. Methods Serum TNF-α, M-CSF (with RIA) and hs-CRP (with immuno turbidimetry) levels were determined in 36 pediatric patients with bronchopneumonia both before and after treatment as well as in 35 controls. Results: Before treatment, the serum hs-CRP, TNF-α and M-CSF levels were significantly higher in the patients than those in controls(P<0.01). After treatment for 2 weeks, the levels in patients were not much different from those in controls(P>0.05). Conclusion: Detection of serum hs-CRP, TNF-α and M-CSF levels might reflect the progress of diseases in pediatric patients with bronchopneumonia. (authors)
