Effect of filtration of the ultraviolet part of pumping radiation on energy characteristics of γ-irradiated Li-Nd-La phosphate glass

Description

The effect of filtration of the ultraviolet part of pumping radiation on energy characteristics of Li-Nd-La phosphate glass irradiated by gamma quanta is investigated. It is shown that the decrease of generation characteristics of laser phosphate glass at γ irradiation is mainly caused by growth of both passive and short-life losses at absorption in active element at the length of the generation wave, arising under the action of ultraviolet part of pumping radiation. The use of monoblock reflector with the base made of quartz glass doped with cesium oxide, cutting the ultraviolet part of pumping radiation permits to increase the efficiency of the laser based on the Li-Nd-La phosphate glass
