  • 1. Atomic Energy Commission, Dept. of Chemistry, Damascus (Syrian Arab Republic)

Description

Dicalcium phosphate was prepared starting with uranium barrened commercial phosphoric acid. The resulting products were useful for feed addition. The undesirable contaminants such as SO4-2 and F- were isolated by precipitation on two stages using calcium hydroxide. The first stage was done at pH value between 2.7-2.9 and the second at pH value of about 6-7. zinc and other trace elements levels were reduced by addiof small amount of ammonium sulfide in the first stage precipitation. X-ray diffraction study showed that the resulting product was mainly a Brushite. . (author). 23 refs., 8 tabs
