Investigation of phase equilibria in the system of Tb2O3-Fe2O3-B2O3 at 1050 deg C

Description

The method of isothermal saturation at 1050 deg C was applied to study phase equilibria of the Tb2O3-Fe2O3-B2O3. Ranges of TbFe(BO2)6 existence and immiscibility are characterized. Monocrystals of double metaborate TbFe(BO2)6 are grown and investigated using the method of X-ray diffraction and DTA. The compound is stated to be crystallized in the monoclinic crystal system with the following parameters of the crystal lattice: a=7.85, b=9.83, c=5.24 A, β114 deg
