Percutaneous drainage of abdominal abscess

Description
Percutaneous abdominal abscess drainage was performed in 24 patients under guidance of ultrasound or CT during recent two years. The sites of abscess were in intraperitoneum (N=9), liver (N=7), kidney (N=3) and etc. Successful drainage was obtained in 21 cases (88%). Two of three unsuccessful patients developed peritonitis and sepsis as a complication. Percutaneous abscess drainage is and effective an safe method of treatment in patient with abdominal abscess
