Performance of a QCD code on the NCUBE hypercube

Creators

  • 1. California Inst. of Tech., Pasadena, CA (United States)

Description

This paper analyzes the performance of a pure gauge QCD code on the NCUBE hypercube. Both load imbalance and communication contribute to the concurrent overhead, with the load imbalance term becoming dominant for sufficiently large hypercubes. The performance model is compared with timings measured on the NCUBE using both the standard and fast versions of the CrOS III communication systems
