Description
X-ray detector using CCD cameras has been applied in synchrotron radiation research such as x-ray imaging, monocrystal and powder structural analysis and small angle scattering as well as optical system adjustment. This article described overview of CCD detectors and explained working principles and basic specifications of CCD cameras. Characteristics of indirect X-ray imaging systems (visible radiation conversion type) were shown with performance comparison of lens and optical fiber coupled systems. Direct X-ray camera was also outlined with application examples. Finally, direct color X-ray camera was introduced to measurement of energy resolution. (T. Tanaka)
