Antiphase dynamics of a multilongitudinal mode Nd:YAG laser
Description
Full text: We measure the cross spectra of intensity fluctuations between pairs of longitudinal modes, and between longitudinal modes and total intensity for a multilongitudinal mode Nd:YAG laser operating in the steady state regime. The laser comprises an oscillator array with collective modes whereby the cooperative behaviour of the system works to destroy all but one of these modes. From the cross spectral data we measure how the longitudinal modes interfere and directly show the destructive interference (antiphase dynamics) of the intensity fluctuations. We also comment on partial destructive interference between collective modes and the presence of nonlinear collective modes
