Fission product analyses on AVR fuel assemblies (batch 13)
Description
Automatic translation: The concentration profiles of Zr 95, Ru 105, Ru 106, kg 110 m, Sb 124, Cs 154 and Cs 137 in the fuel-free zone were determined by gamma spectrometry on six pressed fuel assemblies from the AVR reactor. In addition, the total activities of Cs 134, Cs 137 and Zr 93 per fuel element were also measured. This showed that the concentration gradient of Cs increases near the fuel as a function of burn-up. While the course of the Zr 95 concentration is similar to the distribution of uranium contamination, no systematics could be recognised for Ag 110m. The Sb 124 appears to be an activation product of graphite impurities.
Abstract (German)
An sechs gepreßten Brennelementen aus dem AVR-Reaktor wurden gammaspektrometrisch die Konzentrationsverlaufe von Zr 95, Ru 105, Ru 106, kg 110 m, Sb 124, Cs 154 und Cs 137 in der brennstofffreien Zone ermittelt. Außerdem wurden die Gesamtaktivitäten von Cs 134, Cs 137 und Zr 93 pro Brennelement gemessen. Dabei zeigte sich, daß der Konzentrationsgradient von Cs in Brennstoff nähe in Abhängigkeit vom Abbrand zunimmt. Während der Verlauf der Zr 95-Konzentration ähnlich der Verteilung der Urankontamination ist, konnte für Ag 110 m keinerlei Systematik erkannt werden. Das Sb 124 scheint Aktivierungsprodukt von Graphitverunreinigungen zu sein.Files
