Summary of participating in measurement intercomparison of environmental samples sponsored by WHO IRC

Description

China Institute for Radiation Protection participated three times in measurement intercomparison of environmental samples sponsored by International Reference Center for Radioactivity (IRC), World Health Organization (WHO), since 1985. The milk samples, liquid effluent samples and aquatic plant samples were analyzed and measured respectively by chemical and radiochemical methods, γ spectrometry and liquid scintillation counting. The results reported by the laboratory agreed very well with the reference values from IRC. This paper dscribes the analytical methods and results, and discusses some problems relating to measurements of environmental samples
