Relics of the Big Bang. 5

  • 1. Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (Bombay). Theoretical Astrophysics

Description

The formation and evolution of the relics of the Big Bang are considered in detail. After considering the thermodynamics of the early universe, the author goes into various questions related to these relics such as the synthesis of helium and the characteristic features of the microwave background. The interplay between particle physics and cosmology is analyzed. Some problems related to the very early universe, including galaxy formation, are also touched upon.
