Anisotropy measurements of an iridium 192 HDR source
Description
To have detailed information about the dose distribution around an iridium-192 source used in a microSelectron-HDR system, we planned an experimental investigation about the effects produced by the anisotropy. The measurements were taken using a thimble chamber in a 3-dimensional water phantom while the source was placed on a special purpose-built support. The measured data, recorded in a two-dimensional matrix, were processed by a computer program that we specially developed. Our results are comparable to previous literature even if they were obtained with a different measurement geometry
