Description
An ionisation chamber is described for computer tomography. To reduce the drift or to increase the upper limiting frequency, an HV electrode is placed on each side of each collector electrode. The electrodes are arranged alternately in a housing which is filled with a mixture of Xe and SF6, C2Cl4 or C8H8. Each collector electrode is situated under a window for the incoming X-rays. Thus a large number of individual detectors is formed. Between the electrodes and the windows there is an additional electrode (a metal layer evaporated on to an insulating sheet) to shield the housing wall against charge carriers. (DG) 891 HP

Es wird eine Ionisationskammer fuer die Computer-Tomography beschrieben. Zur Verringerung der Driftzeit bzw. zur Erhoehung der oberen Grenzfrequenz steht auf jeder Seite jeder Sammelektrode eine Hochspannungselektrode. Die Elektroden sind abwechselnd nebeneinander in einem Gehaeuse angeordnet, welches mit einem Gemisch aus Xe und SF6, C2Cl4 oder C8H8 gefuellt ist. Jede Sammelelektrode liegt unter einem Fenster fuer die einfallende Roentgenstrahlung. Hierdurch entsteht eine Vielzahl von Einzeldetektoren. Zwischen den Elektroden und den Fenstern befindet sich eine Zusatzelektrode (auf eine Isolierfolie aufgedampfter Metallbelag) zur Abschirmung der Gehaeusewandung gegenueber Ladungstraeger. (DG)Files
