Description
Purpose: A vacuum vessel is formed by covering a shell divided into an upper shell and a lower shell from above and below a discharging vessel. The upper and the lower shells are circumferentially divided into a plurality of shell members and provided with connection flanges in the circumferential direction. The connection flanges are connectable by means of bolts. Vertical rings are disposed between the connection flanges and insulation material is disposed at least a portion between the rings and the connection flanges at least at a portion. Further, insulation material is also disposed by way of the connection member between the outside of the shell member and the outer flange. This enables to prevent the circulating induction current conducted to the shell from flowing in the toroidal direction and the poroidal direction. (Seki, T.)
