Description

High pressure effects on heavy fermion antiferromagnets CeAl2 and CeCuAl3 were studied by NMR up to 15 kbar. In CeAl2 the 27Al Knight shift K(αχ) decreased appreciably with increasing pressure p, indicating a marked increase of TK with p. With decrease of TN by p, a transition from modulated to type II ordering was observed for p ≥ 12 kbar by NMR below TN. CeCuAl3 (TN = 2.5 K) was affected very sensitively by p, as TN disappeared for p ≥ 12 kbar
