The new generation of information engineering - improved safety when used in nuclear power plants
Description
Based on several examples, the new methods of information technology are shown by which the operator is much better connected to what happens in the plant than he has been so far. Of crucial importance is the transition from system-oriented to task-oriented information made possible by the application of digital technique. By using computer-aided diagnostic and prognostic methods, the mental image of plant events is essentially supported, above all in complex and intricate situations. The safety benefit realizable by this is immeasurable. It results in a gain of time in the assessment of a plant situation; prognoses on possible developments of an incident or support for the application of procedures. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
(orig.)
