Neutron diffraction texture investigation on deformed quartzites
- 1. Mineralogisches Inst., Univ. Bonn (Germany)
- 2. Dept. of Geology and Geophysics, Univ. of California, Berkeley (United States)
Description
The volume texture of five naturally deformed quartzites has been analysed by neutron diffraction. Twelve pole figures have each been measured simultaneously. The textures are evaluated by means of ODF representations. From the ODFs, pole figures have been calculated which cannot be determined experimentally, e.g., separated (h 0 l) and (0 k l) in the trigonal quartzite structure. (orig.)
