Description

According to the agreement between Ministries of Science and Technology of Korea and Vietnam, Korea has provided to Vietnam the cyclotron HIC-KOTRON13 of 13 MeV energy proton beam, together with a liquid target system for the production of radioisotope 18F, a hot cell for synthesis 18FDG and radiopharmaceutical dispenser system. The production of 18FDG, 11C,..which are used for PET/CT is the main function of the HIC-KOTRON13 cyclotron. The RF system of frequency of 77.3 MHz is important for accelerating proton beam. Some technical parameters were measured and issued by SAMUONG- manufacturer: Maximum power of RF is 20 kW, electrical amplitude of RF is 45 kV. In order to achieve the above parameters, it is necessary to correctly adjust the cavity impedance of 50 Ω at frequency 77.3 MHz and the reflection coefficient of less than 3% from the cavity to the RF system [2].. This project was aimed at experimentally determination of the impedance and reflection coefficient of the RF resonance cavity of the HIC-KOTRON13 cyclotron based on Network Analyzer N9912A equipment [1]. These parameters were used in process of installation of the ion source, coupler, cooling water systems... Simultaneously, the distribution of the electric field in the dee gap, the resonance frequency in cavity of the KOTRON13 was also needed to be simulated. (author)
