Effect of different grain size on the mechanical properties of steel-18Kh2N4MA

Description
The different steel granularity detrimentally affects the ductile properties of the steel. With regard to its ductile properties (for example T50, asub(p)), the steel of different grain sizes (for example, grain N 1 + N 8) proves to be a little better than a coarse-grain steel (for example, N 1). The different steel granularity decreases the resistance of the steel to the ductile (asub(p)) and to the brittle (T50) failure. The size of the initial austenite grain does not affect substantially the strength characteristics of the steel (deltasub(B), deltasub(0.2)) that has been hardened and tempered, nor its hardness (HRC) and plasticity (delta, psi). In the case of the ductile failure, the different steel granularity exerts a stronger negative effect only after its high-temperature tempering
