GRS annual report 1988
Description
Even in 1988, the year under report, the publications of the Society for Reactor Safety (GRS) - a consulting firm in matters of science and technology - were a substantial contribution to the further optimization of safety in nuclear installations. The basic principle in this respect is that statements made with regard to safety should be backed by comprehensive research and development (R+D) done by the Society itself. The concluding research contributions to the German Risk Study for Nuclear Power Stations, phase B formed the link between R+D on the one hand and comprehensive statements regarding safety on the other. The centralised registration, assessment and utilization of operational experience, incidents and accidents constitute the essential element of the safety-relevant evaluation of nuclear power stations. Auch im Berichtsjahr 1988 hat die GRS als wissenschaftlich-technisches Beratungsunternehmen mit ihren Arbeiten einen wesentlichen Beitrag zur weiteren Optimierung der Sicherheit kerntechnischer Einrichtungen geleistet. Dabei gilt als Grundsatz, sicherheitstechnische Aussagen auf eine umfassende eigene Forschung und Entwicklung (F+E) abzustuetzen. Bindeglied zwischen F+E und umfassenden Sicherheitsaussagen bildeten im Berichtsjahr die abschliessenden Arbeiten zur Deutschen Risikostudie Kernkraftwerke, Phase B. Im Bereich der sicherheitstechnischen Bewertung der Kernkraftwerke bildet die zentrale Erfassung, Auswertung und Umsetzung von Betriebserfahrungen, Vorkommnissen und Stoerfaellen den wesentlichen Baustein.
