Time dependent neutron spin interferometry

Description
We have developed a new type of time-of-flight neutron spin interferometer using Larmor precession. Whether a phase delay of neutron tunneling through a magnetic thin film observed as a spin rotation can be interpreted by a classical Larmor clock or not, is not yet clear. The time dependent neutron spin interferometry aims to clarify the relation between phase delay and dwelling time in a tunneling potential, various quantum well potentials. At the first step, using polychromatic time of flight neutron spin rotation, we have shown that a traversal phase delay through a magnetic thin film can be measured by the classical Larmor clock. The second purpose is to observe the time dependent phase through a time dependent potentials. (author)
