On conformal invariance in gauge theories
Description
The present cycle of papers is based on the assumption that gauge fields transform under nonbasic representations of conformal group. As a consequence, it is found that conformal-invariant two-point functions possess non-trivial transversal parts. In the first paper conformal quantum electrodynamics is considered. Nondegenerate conformal-invariant Lagrangian of free electromagnetic field is constructed and the validity of canonical quantization is checked. Physical subspace is singled out in an invariant way. The problem of including the interaction with the external current is discussed
