Description

Historical Aspects: Both units were in extended shutdown stage for en-masse coolant channel replacement for above mentioned period. KAPS–1 restarted after an outage period of 3 years. The replaced coolant channels have shown degradation in outer diameter and failure due to formation of nodules. En-masse coolant channel replacement was again taken up for the same unit. KAPS– 1 has restarted in 2018 and KAPS –2 restarted in June 2019. The ageing management practices followed are the same in both units. General details of plant life management procedures can be found elsewhere.
