Species composition of blue-green algae in coolant water bodies of state regional power plants (SRPP) and atomic power plants (APP) of the Ukrainian SSR

Description
A study was made on species composition of blue-green algae in coolant water bodies of 8 HEPP and Chernobyl NPP in the Ukrainian SSR. 172 species of green algae were revealed. They are presented by 190 forms, belong to three classes, six orders, 18 families with predominant representatives of Oscillatoriales Order, Oscillatoriaceae family, Oscillatoria Vanch, Phormedium knetz and Lyngbya geni. 105 species (108 forms) of Cyanophyta were indicated for the first time for coolant water bodies of HEPP and NPP in USSR. Their list is presented. Data on occurrence of species of blue-green algae in investigated coolant water-bodies are given
