Behavior of Y2BaCuO5 in peritectic YBaCuO melts

  • 1. Moskovskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ. im. M.V. Lomonosova, (Russian Federation)

Description

Behaviour of Y2BaCuO5 phase particles, which is formed by peritectic melting of the YBa2Cu3O7-x superconducting phase, is studied. The kinetics of the Y2BaCuO5 phase particles growth is studied through the method of optical microscopy on quenched samples, obtained at various temperature and hold times of the melt existence. Simultaneously the Y2BaCuO5 phase was separated through selective solution of the quenched melt components (BaO, CuO and Cu2O) and its individual particles were studied through the method of screen electron microscopy
