Auf dem Gebiet der wässrigen Konversion wurde bereits Anfang 1966 das ADU - Verfahren zugunsten des AUC - Verfahrens zurückgestellt. Die Hauptarbeiten des Jahres 1966 konzentrierten sich somit darauf, das AUC - Verfahren zu einem technisch-wirtschaftlichen Produktionsverfahren auszubauen. Die Anstrengungen dehnten sich mit Erfolg auf Planung, Konstruktion, Errichtung und das Anfahren einer 100 jato UO2-Konversionsanlage aus, nachdem es gelungen war, in Technikumsversuchen ein aussichtsreiches Verfahrenskonzept zu entwickeln. In dieser Anlage lief im Oktober 1966 die Produktion von schwach angereichertem UF6-ceramic-grade aus UF6 im geplanten Umfang zur vollen Zufriedenheit an.
