Characterization of a capillary-discharge plasma

Description

The electron density and temperature of the plasma produced by a capillary discharge with open geometry have been characterized. Peak densities of 1x1019 cm-3 and electron temperatures of 2.5 eV are observed. The plasma is uniform over distances on the order of 1 cm. The time evolution of both the electron density and temperature profiles has been studied over the duration of the 5-μs-long discharge
