Study on the super capacitive performance of gamma irradiated zinc oxide thin film
Description
The effect of gamma irradiation on the structure and electrochemical properties of chemically synthesized ZnO thin film was studied. Three different irradiation doses of 5, 10 and 15 kGy were applied. ZnO thin film was directly grown on stainless steel (SS) substrate by chemical bath deposition method (CBD). These ZnO nanorods were exposed by 60Co gamma source having dose rate of 4.147 kGy/hr. Before and after gamma irradiation, ZnO thin film was analysed using structural, morphological and electrochemical studies such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), cyclic voltammetry (CV) and galvanostatic charge-discharge. The XRD pattern shows the Hexagonal structure and decrease in the crystalline size with increase in dose rate
