Description

The total (p,n) cross-section for the reaction 55Mn(p,n)55Fe was measured in 5 keV steps using a 55Mn target (approximately 8 keV thick for Esub(p)=3 MeV) and a 4π-geometry neutron counter, from Esub(p)=1.35 MeV to 5.4 MeV. The excitation function exhibits a large number of resonances, some of which can be identified with the isobaric analogue states in the compound nucleus 56Mn. The excitation function averaged over 200 keV energy interval is analysed on the basis of optical model. Hauser-Feshbach theory with Moldauer's modification is used to get the fit to the experimental data. The isobaric analogue resonance at Esub(p)=1.54 MeV is analysed to get the spectroscopic factor.
