Inclusive vector meson production in hadronic interactions
Description
Characteristic regularities of vector meson production in hadronic interactions are discussed. A natural description of the energy dependence of cross sections is obtained by the distinction of central production of vector mesons and production via beam fragmentation. An interpretation of cross section ratios in different reactions is possible within the additive quark model. The comparison of J/psi, phi, K* and rhosup(o) production in pp interactions allows a prediction of the cross section for D* production. (orig.)

Charakteristische Regelmaessigkeiten bei der Produktion von Vektormesonen in hadronischen Wechselwirkungen werden diskutiert. Eine natuerliche Beschreibung der Energieabhaengigkeit der Wirkungsquerschnitte erhaelt man durch die Unterscheidung von zentraler Produktion der Vektormesonen und Produktion durch Strahlfragmentation. Eine Interpretation der Wirkungsquerschnitt-Verhaeltnisse fuer verschiedene Reaktionen ist im Rahmen des additiven Quarkmodells moeglich. Der Vergleich der J/psi-, phi-, K*- und rhosup(o)-Produktion in pp-Wechselwirkungen ermoeglicht eine Vorhersage des Wirkungsquerschnitts der D*-Produktion. (orig.)
