Phase formation in CdF2-PbF2-CeF3 system

Description
Phase composition of the system CdF2-PbF2-CeF3 in solid state in the range of 600-760 deg C was studied to determine homogeneity region of varaible composition phase with fluorite structure. It is ascertained that in the system CdF2-PbF2-CeF3 there is a wide homogeneity range of three-component solid solution (CdyPb1-y)1-x·CexF2+x with fluorite structure. The solid solution is thermodynamically stable at t ∼ 600 deg C, when solid state diffusion is impeded and a long-term annealing is required for equilibrium settlement
