KENS report - 14 (2001-2002)
Description
The present issue follows the KENS Report-13 published in February 2002, and summarizes the research activities performed at KENS during the period between April 2001 and March 2003. A replacement of the new target moderator reflector assembly at KENS was performed in 2000, as reported in the previous issue. At the same time, a supermirror guide tube was installed on the chopper spectrometer, INC, and the performance of INC was greatly improved. Following the success on INC, supermirror guide tubes were installed on the spectrometer: CAT, LAM-D and LAM-40. Since 2001, the Grant-in-Aid research program for Creative Scientific Research on ''Collaboratory on Electron Correlation - toward a new research network between physics and chemistry'' has started. In this program, the performances of SWAN, Vega and Sirius were improved. We reported on the construction of new spectrometers, ARISA and XECED, in the previous issue, and have obtained some results from them. The performances of these spectrometers as well as their scientific results are summarized in this issue. The 93 papers are indexed individually. (J.P.N.)
