Description
This paper reports that partial least squares method (PLS) modified pure spectra linear programming method (LP-M) and ordinary least square method (OLS-M) have been satisfactorily applied to the simultaneous spectrophotometric determination of traces of Nb(V) and Ta(V) which are very similar in chemical properties and always coexist in various samples. Highly sensitive chromogenic reactions are known among them, salicyl fluorone (SAF) and cetyl trimethylammonium bromide (CTMAB), a cationic surfactant, in the strongly acidic solution. The absorption spectra of the formed ternary micelle complexes overlap seriously, and their λmax are 518 and 516 nm, respectively
