A study on new science and industry technology development in the field of nuclear application

Description
The 6 typical technical areas are reviewed and analysed upon presentations and discussions by experts on current issues, state-of-the art, and directions of technology development in advanced countries and the national programs, details of which are suggested based on the study. In view of research capabilities, it seems that technical levels in some fields are matured since some facilities are in full operation for nuclear radiation researches and some are planned to be introduced in near future in this country. Those R and D activities are not directed to industrial applications because of lack of integration and strategy on technologies developed. This requires, therefore, a strategical scheme to make R and Ds successfully and efficiently for industrial uses. Thus the followings should be considered in order to make practical contributions to domestic industries in the fields of nuclear radiation technologies: 1) Establishment of DB and the experts group to maximize research facilities in utilization and to share information, 2) Increment of financial support for full utilization of the facilities and manpower development, 3) Technology development through design and construction of research facilities by full use of domestic resources, 4) Preparation and/or formulation of a system applicable to extension of technology development and researches in nuclear radiation utilization in order to upbring industrial capabilities, 5) Government support for industrial applications
